'K. J. Somaiya Bharatiya Sanskriti Peetham' was established on 20th October 1989 by Padmabhushan Late K. J. Somaiya, a humanist and a philanthropist with great foresight and vision. It was inaugurated at the hands of H. H. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Jayendra Sarasvati of Kanchi Kamkoti Peeth. The institute is a part of Somaiya Vidyavihar, an educational society which has established institutions of higher learning.
Somaiya Vidyavihar campus is a vibrant educational centre dedicated to excellence with a sense of mission. It is situated on a campus of 60 acres of prime land in the heart of Mumbai. The emphasis on values cherished by the Indian Culture has been the hallmark of Somaiya institutions. The founders of Somaiya Vidyavihar were deeply disturbed by the lack of sense of commitment and the deterioration of morality and values in modern Indian Society. K. J. Somaiya Bharatiya Sanskriti Peetham was established to impart value education. Besides offering courses for value based Education on various levels such as graduate and Post-Graduate students of Management Studies and conducting teachers’ training programmes, the institute runs a variety of traditional and innovative courses. The resource persons and guest lecturers in the Peetham include a galaxy of eminent scholars - both traditional and modern.
