Policy for Lending Books and Late Fees

 

Policy varies by type of users as detected below:

08. Alumni

Membership proposed on payment of Rs. 500/- for six months.

Books –  books are not issued to Alumni. Membership is only for reference.

Reference books, journals / periodicals, magazines, newspapers, Kindle, CD-ROM, etc are declared as a “For Reference only” will not be issued.

Fine –No fine levied.

 

09. Visitor

No issue of books, journal or magazine, only reading in the library. They must get a request letter from the head of their institutions or approval from the Director.

 

Policy about Reference Collection:

Reference books, journals / periodicals, magazines, newspapers, Kindle, CD-ROM, etc are declared as a “For Reference only” will not be issued.

 

Process for reminder of overdue books:

  • Automated emails are sent to respective readers on their SVV email.
  • Sometimes by Phone calls and sending email to their personal ID's.

 

Reimbursement for lost books:

In case of loss of book(s),

  • Faculty/Student should replace the same book with overdue fine or if the book is lost,
  • Faculty/Student will be liable to pay the present cost of the book(s) and 50 percent of the present cost of book(s) as processing charge along with overdue fine.
